Farm shop and machine shed floors
Heavy equipment and roof runoff often cause shop floors to sink near the overhead door. Lifting the low section helps doors seal and keeps equipment from rolling over a lip every time it moves in or out.
Polyfoam Concrete Lifting · Cass County
Archie is a small southern Cass County town surrounded by farm ground, with homes, churches, and shops along I-49. Metro Wide raises settled porch slabs, sidewalks, driveways, and outbuilding floors with polyurethane foam, and we can often quote from texted photos first.
Concrete Leveling Near You
Concrete in and around Archie works hard. In town, it is front walks, porch slabs, and short driveways on homes that have stood for a long time. Outside town, it is shop floors that hold tractors and trucks, aprons in front of machine sheds, and long approaches that see heavy loads during planting and harvest. When any of those slabs settle, they turn into trip hazards, water traps, or a bump every time equipment rolls in. Many of the homes and outbuildings around town were built at different times, so the concrete varies a lot from one property to the next.
Replacing a large shop floor or a long run of sidewalk is a big job, and it means moving everything out of the way while the old concrete is broken up and the new pour cures. Polyurethane foam leveling takes a different approach. We drill small ports, inject foam beneath the slab, and lift it back up in place. If the concrete is still structurally sound, that is usually the faster and less disruptive option. If it is broken into pieces or crumbling, we will tell you that honestly.

At roughly 44 miles south of downtown Kansas City, Archie is in the outer part of our 75-mile coverage radius. We group projects by route, so starting with photos and measurements lets us quote the job remotely and schedule it efficiently.
Local Conditions
The soils around Archie are typical of southern Cass County: clay-rich ground that swells when wet and shrinks in dry spells. On open farm ground, wind and sun dry the soil quickly in summer, and heavy spring rains can saturate it just as fast. That back-and-forth slowly opens voids under slabs, especially along the edges where water reaches the soil first. Gravel and dirt around rural slabs also let water reach the soil more easily than a paved yard would, so edges tend to drop first.
Rural concrete has a few extra challenges. Shop and machine-shed floors were often poured directly on native ground with little base, and they carry heavy, concentrated loads at doorways. Roof runoff from large metal buildings drops a lot of water in one spot, sometimes right at a slab edge. Animal burrows, washed-out gravel along approaches, and freeze–thaw cycles all add to the movement. In town, older walks and porches have simply had decades of seasonal wetting and drying underneath them. Identifying where the water comes from is part of every estimate we give.

Common Archie Projects
Every slab is different, so we start with what is happening at your property. These are the repairs Archie property owners ask us about most.
Heavy equipment and roof runoff often cause shop floors to sink near the overhead door. Lifting the low section helps doors seal and keeps equipment from rolling over a lip every time it moves in or out.
Porch slabs in town tend to tip away from or toward the house as the soil underneath shifts. Raising them can close the gap at the foundation and make the step up to the door even again.
Walks leading to churches and small businesses see steady foot traffic from people of all ages. Lifting sunken sections removes trip points without closing the entry for a full replacement. We can work around service times when we plan the project.
Driveway approaches and aprons in front of sheds take heavy loads. When one section drops, foam can raise it back toward the adjoining concrete so trucks and trailers roll across smoothly. Lifting is limited to the sections that have actually dropped.
Our Archie Leveling Process
Text a wide shot, close-ups of the low joints, a tape measure showing the drop, and the address.
We look at the settlement, slab condition, and drainage, and follow up with a quote or questions.
On the day of the repair we drill small access holes at planned points across the settled slab.
Expanding polyurethane fills the voids and raises the concrete gradually while we watch the transitions.
Ports are patched, the area is cleaned, and the surface can usually be used again soon after.

Archie Concrete Leveling FAQ
Yes. Archie is within our general 75-mile service radius around Kansas City. Scheduling depends on your exact address and the size of the project. Texting photos and your location first lets us quote remotely and confirm the work is a good fit before we plan the trip, which saves time on both ends.
Often, yes. Polyurethane foam is used under commercial and agricultural slabs as well as residential ones. We need to know what sits on the floor, how thick the slab is if you know, and where it has settled. Send photos of the low area and the doorway. If the slab is badly broken, replacement may be the better choice for that section.
A crack by itself does not rule out leveling. If the slab is in a few large pieces that can still be lifted together, foam can usually raise it. The cracks will still be visible afterward, and we offer crack sealing separately to keep water out. If the porch is broken into many small pieces or crumbling at the edges, replacing it may make more sense.
If the concrete is badly broken, crumbling, severely spalled, or cannot move without damaging a fixed structure, replacement may be the better investment. We tell you when a slab is not a good lifting candidate rather than recommending a repair that will not hold up. Our leveling vs. replacement guide covers the trade-offs.
Sometimes. Raising a patio, walk, or driveway panel that settled toward the house can restore some pitch away from the foundation. Drainage also depends on gutters, downspouts, and surrounding grades, so we point out anything that is likely to undo the repair.
Polyfoam lifting uses small access ports, much smaller than the holes used for traditional mudjacking. The number and placement depend on the slab. After the lift, the ports are patched.
